Reviews are the life blood of the book industry so before you even think about launching your book out in a full on media blitz be sure and get some advanced reviews.

Chances are you already have fans in your life who will give your book a good review – even if it is just your mom.

But there are also friends, people from social clubs, book clubs, etc.

If you have a mailing list or a Facebook page as an author you can always reach out to a few select fans or offer advanced copies to those who are interested.

Get Your Website Ready

Every author should have a website.  You can do one separately for your books but the BIGGEST thing I’m always telling people is to build your platform.

That is always have a way to go out and contact your fans.

My favorite way is to do it via building an email list since it makes it fast and easy to contact them at a moment’s notice and since they signed up for your list they’re probably really happy to hear from you.

 Get More Media Connections

Start building up a list of possible contacts that would be interested in your books.

Here are some possible connections to start your brainstorming…

  • Other authors
  • Podcasts
  • Vloggers
  • Radio Shows
  • TV shows

Get Your Book Presentable

There are 3 non negotiable’s when it comes to making your book something that will take it from okay to greatness.

  • Getting it edited by someone competent.
  • Writing something truly great.
  • Having a great cover.

In fact people definitely do judge a book by its cover so if you’re going to be launching your book be sure and have a great cover ready to go.

Find People To Endorse Your Book

If you happen to know or are fans of any authors you can always get their endorsements for your book from other authors.

Why would an author want to endorse your book?

Well it allows them to reach a whole new group of readers that may not know about them as well plus if you’re successful you can endorse their books into the future as well.
